SAN ANTONIO — Whataburger announced they will be donating thousands of dollars to the San Antonio Food Bank this Friday.

According to a release, Whataburger executives plan to present food bank leaders with a $200,000 check, marking the fast-food company's largest-ever contribution to the Alamo City nonprofit.

“With heartfelt gratitude, it's our honor to present this $200,000 donation to our friends at the San Antonio Food Bank through Whataburger’s charitable program, Feeding Student Success,” said Whataburger President and CEO Ed Nelson in a release. “Every dollar raised will be poured back into our community, supporting the San Antonio Food Bank in its essential mission to help families and students in need.”

The event will be held at the Harvey E. Najim Children's Pavilion at 12:30 p.m.

The funds will help the SAFB provide 1,400,000 meals to individuals at risk for hunger, according to the release.

Whataburger fundraised throughout September in honor of Feeding America's Hunger Action Month.
