"Give us some closure." | Family of woman missing for two months hosting BBQ plate sale Sunday

The family is hoping to raise money so they can offer a reward, in hopes someone will come forward with information about Kate.

The family of a San Antonio woman, who has been missing for 2 months, continues searching for answers into her disappearance.

Katelyn "Kate" Vara's family are now taking action by hosting a fundraiser.

Vara disappeared on Aug. 6 after she left her Westside home on Maria Elena Street to go to a medical clinic.

Since then, no one has seen or heard from her.

The family will be hosting a BBQ plate sale on Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Dragon's Sports Bar located at 1353 Bandera Road.

The plate sale will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the plates will be $12 each.

“We're trying to raise funds in efforts to try to hopefully get money together to offer rewards. So hopefully someone will come forward and speak. We do know people have been talking in the neighborhood,” said Valerie Mendoza, Kate's Mother.

Mendoza says knowing where she is will give the family some closure.
