SAPD: Police detain several teens who end up not being involved in deadly north-side shooting

A vehicle that matched the suspect vehicle description crashed after a chase. After investigation, those people were determined to not be involved in the incident.

SAN ANTONIO — A 27-year-old man was shot dead on the north side early Saturday morning, according to police.

Authorities say an argument took place amongst a group of people in the 1100 block of Patricia Drive at around 1:30 a.m. The argument was about the group wanting to stay at the man's apartment, according to police.

At some point, shots were fired, and the man was hit. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man has been identified as 27-year-old Raul Robles.

A sergeant on scene says as police were responding they saw a vehicle that matched the description given of the suspect vehicle. When police tried stopping the vehicle, they did not stop and ultimately crashed at a nearby intersection.

Six teens ranging from ages 15-18 were in the vehicle. When it crashed, three fled on foot but were quickly detained. Multiple firearms were found inside the vehicle. All six were charged with evading arrest in a vehicle and unlawfully carrying weapons. The three who fled were also charged with evading arrest on foot.

After investigation, it was determined that the people in the vehicle were not involved in the shooting.

The suspects remain at large as the investigation continues.
