SAN ANTONIO — Two people are dead and two are injured after an east-side shooting Thanksgiving morning, according to police.
SAPD Police Chief William McManus says the shooting happened in a home in the area of the 600 block of Potomac Street.
He says five people who knew each other spent the night in the home Wednesday. Police are not sure if they are all related.
The suspected shooter went to leave Thursday morning, and for an unknown reason to police, four people ended up being shot.
Two men in their 20s have been confirmed dead and two other people were taken to the hospital. One of the people taken to the hospital was also a man in his 20s. Police don't know the gender of the fourth victim.
The suspected shooter, also in his 20s, has been detained. Police do not know the motive behind the shooting at the moment but knows he used a handgun.
Chief McManus mentioned that police frequently respond to shootings on Thanksgiving.
