41-year-old man arrested after running from police, crashing car into apartment building in North Texas

According to police, no one was injured in the crash.

EULESS, Texas — The Euless Police Department says it arrested 41-year-old Carl Finstad after he fled from officers and crashed his car into an apartment building on Saturday.

According to police, officers originally attempted to serve an arrest warrant for Finstad at his home on Donley Drive in Euless on Friday. However, on Saturday, an officer conducted a traffic stop when Finstad was found driving in the 100 block of Ash Lane.

Police say Finstad immediately fled the scene in his car, but the officer did not follow him as he was driving at a high rate of speed in a residential area.

According to police, the officer continued westbound on W Ash Lane when he saw the car had wrecked out and crashed into a parked car and the corner of an apartment building.

Police say no one was injured in the crash. However, three of the apartments sustained significant damage, causing the residents to be relocated.

According to police, witnesses saw Finstad flee the scene, jumping several fences in the process.

Police say officers set up a perimeter and deployed a drone to track down the suspect.

The Bedford Police Department helped out in locating Finstad, who was arrested without further incident.

According to police, Finstad is now in custody for the warrant of assault strangulation with previous conviction and two offenses of evading in a vehicle with previous convictions.
