6 undocumented immigrants apprehended by Zavala County deputies

A traffic stop for a traffic violation leads to six undocumented immigrants being apprehended, according to authorities.

ZAVALA COUNTY, Texas — According to the Zavala County Sheriff's Office, deputies apprehended 6 undocumented immigrants.

Around 6 a.m. on Oct. 15, deputies with the Zavala County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on a Chevy Silverado for a traffic violation just east of Batesville.

According to authorities, once the truck came to a stop, both passenger side doors opened and several individuals were reportedly seen running into the brush nearby attempting to get away.

Deputies were reportedly able to successfully apprehend six undocumented immigrants.

The vehicle was turned over to a wrecker and the six individuals were turned over to Border Patrol.
