Alleged road rage incident turns into a shooting on the highway, suspects on the loose, police say

According to police the suspects started shooting at the victim's vehicle, hitting the SUV several times and grazing the back of the victim's head.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are searching for two suspects after an alleged road rage incident turned into a shooting down a popular roadway on Monday.

Police say a man in his 60's was driving westbound on Hwy 90 near General McMullen in an SUV when he met up with a white Mercedes car.

The male driver of the white Mercedes began driving aggressively and honking at the man in the SUV to move out of the way, authorities say.

According to police, the driver and passenger in the Mercedes started shooting at the man's vehicle, hitting the SUV several times. One of the rounds went through the SUV's window and grazed the man's head.

The man was able to exit the roadway and ended up in a residential neighborhood on Ceralvo Street before calling police and emergency services.

The man was checked out by EMS but did not need to be transported to a hospital.

Police say the suspects are described as two Hispanic males between the ages of 13 and 18.

Authorities say the driver was using a handgun and the passenger had a rifle of some sort.

Once caught the suspects could face charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police say.

No other information was provided.

This is a developing story.
