Arrest made in 'high-five' robbery of 86-year-old man, accomplice remains at large

A man and woman have been on the run since robbing an 86-year-old man back in July. Now the woman is in police custody.

SAN ANTONIO — The woman involved in the "high-five" robbery of an 86-year-old San Antonio man this summer has been arrested.

On July 16, Jose Santos Hernandez, 86, said he was attacked and robbed in his own home off West Commerce between North General McMullen and Northwest 24th Street. The attack left him with a broken elbow and down $400.

Surveillance footage showed the woman clearly high-fiving her accomplice as they ran from the scene with Hernandez's belongings. The San Antonio Police Department shared that footage publicly in hopes of making arrests.

After being flooded with anonymous tips, investigators gave Hernandez a photo lineup of possible suspects, from which he was able to identify Adrianna Delores Garza. She was taken into custody and faces an aggravated assault charge; her bond was set at $100,000, and she must be GPS-monitored and on full house arrest if released.

The male suspect is believed to still be missing and hasn't been identified as of yet.

This is an ongoing investigation. KENS 5 will update this story as more information becomes available.
