SAN ANTONIO — Baptist Medical Center was placed on a brief lockdown Friday morning after a man reportedly made a terroristic threat over the phone, San Antonio police say.

Armando Martinez, 64, was arrested shortly after officials concluded there was no immediate threat. Authorities accused Martinez of threatening to "go Uvalde" on the downtown facility, an apparent reference to the 2022 Robb Elementary School shooting where 21 people were killed.

Police say Martinez made the call to the facility on Dallas Street around 9 a.m., resulting in a law enforcement response. Martinez was a patient at the hospital on Thursday and was unhappy with the care he received, officials said, resulting in the threats.

The hospital was placed on lockdown for a short amount of time. Authorities said around 1 p.m. that the facility was back open but with tightened security.

Martinez faces charges of Terroristic Threats-Public Fear. Police say they didn't find weapons on Martinez when they arrested him.
