BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A Bexar County Sheriff's deputy required medical assistance during a traffic stop on the north side early Saturday morning.
According to an SAPD sergeant on scene, the deputy was parked in his marked vehicle near Stone Oak Parkway and Canyon Golf, when a vehicle pulled in behind him around 1:49 a.m.
During the stop, authorities say the deputy suffered a medical emergency. First responders were called and life-saving measures were given to the deputy. The deputy was then taken to the hospital in critical condition.
No other injuries were reported.
The driver was questioned and released by authorities.
Officials said there was no evidence of foul play.
This is an ongoing investigation.
