SAN ANTONIO — Two months after a violent murder stemming from a drug deal that went south, a third suspect has been arrested.
Michael Jasso, 18, is now facing a murder charge in connection to a shooting that happened in the 1000 block of San Luis, just west of downtown. Early in the morning of Jan. 26, officers responded to an apparent shooting which is when officers found the lifeless body of 43-year-old Mando Rodriguez.
Investigators said Rodriguez had been shot and died on the scene.
According to an arrest warrant, a witness told detectives Rodriguez had planned to sell methamphetamine to three people, later identified as 39-year-old James Guerra, 18-year-old Matthew Williams and Jasso.
At some point during the drug transaction, one of the suspects accused Rodriguez of selling “bad meth,” according to an arrest warrant.
According to police documents, Williams then pulled out a gun and shot Rodriguez. Witnesses later told police that all three suspects "took part in the murder of the victim."
Shortly after the murder, Bexar County Sheriff’s Office deputies contacted SAPD stating Guerra was a suspect in a separate BCSO murder case, according to multiple arrest warrants.
BCSO reports that undercover deputies conducted surveillance on Guerra and arrested him after a short pursuit last month.
Guerra and Williams are also facing charges in the BCSO case after deputies say Guerra shot the victim, identified in an arrest warrant as Albert Soliz, just hours after Rodriguez had been killed.
According to police documents, Williams told detectives Guerra planned the attack on Soliz, and shot him multiple times.
Soliz’s body was found three days later, according to an arrest warrant.
Jasso has not been reported to have any connection to the murder of Soliz, according to police documents made available to KENS 5.
Jasso was arrested Tuesday, his bond set at $250,000.
