ZAVALA COUNTY, Texas — On Oct. 20, Zavala County Sheriff's Office Captain Jesse Jimenez was looking over traffic in a school zone when he reportedly saw a white Chevy SUV speeding past all the other traffic.
Jimenez conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and the 19-year-old driver was reportedly showing signs of driving while intoxicated. Officials said the passenger, who was identified as a minor, was allegedly found to be intoxicated as well and in possession of marijuana and a controlled substance.

The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated and the passenger was charged with public intoxication, minor in possession of alcohol, possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
"We ask the public not to drink and drive especially through school zones! We are glad no one got hurt," Zavala County Sheriff's Office said.
