Man facing multiple charges in fatal shooting of his girlfriend's father

Police say Fuentes' daughter and her boyfriend were at a local bar when the boyfriend and father began to argue.

SAN ANTONIO — A man is dead after an argument with his daughter's boyfriend escalates to a shooting early Saturday morning, San Antonio Police say. And now, a man is facing four charges including murder.

Christopher Fuentes, 43, was killed in the parking lot of a restaurant on Blanco Road near Loop 1604 West around 12:20 a.m.

Police say Fuentes' daughter and her boyfriend were at a local bar when the boyfriend and father began to argue. At some point during the night, Fuentes and his daughter left the bar and made their way to a Taco Palenque.

Authorities say the woman's boyfriend got in his car and drove to the restaurant's parking lot where he continued arguing with the father. As the father approached the vehicle, the boyfriend pulled out a gun and fired several rounds, striking and killing Fuentes. His daughter rushed for cover in the Taco Palenque. No other injuries were reported, according to authorities.

Franco Xavier Summers, 32, was arrested and faces four charges including murder, assault of a family member, evading arrest and failure to stop and give information.

Fuentes is remembered as the "cool guy of the family," a man who loved God and saw the good in people. Family didn't want to be shown on camera or have their voices broadcasted as a safety precaution. But Fuentes' daughter wants the community to know her father is a hero and is the sole reason why she's alive after the shooting.

The family of Christopher Fuentes have setup a GoFundMe to raise money for his burial.
