SAN ANTONIO — Firefighters found a person inside of a burning car that had crashed just north of downtown early Tuesday morning.
San Antonio firefighters responded to the scene of a crash off of Highway 281 and San Pedro Avenue, in between Heritage and Rhapsody and Sandeau around 12:26 a.m.
Officials say a driver lost control on the San Pedro Avenue turnaround just before Highway 281 and the vehicle rolled off the road and caught fire.
Police aren’t sure if speed was a factor here but the impact was severe enough for the car to burst into flames. When the fire was put out, crews found the driver inside of the vehicle. That victim has been identified as Mohamad Achmar, 36.
Nobody else was found inside or at the scene.
This is a developing story.
