SAN ANTONIO — Four people were arrested following a car burglary that turned into a high speed chase along I-10 Thursday morning, according to the Schertz Police Department.
Schertz Police were called to a burglary in progress at the 11000 block of Holly Forest in the Willow Grove Subdivision.
Police say the homeowners attempted to stop the burglars when the suspect fled to a vehicle. As the suspects were leaving one of the suspects shot a handgun into the air.
Police say no one was injured.
Officers responding to the burglary call spotted the suspects vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle but the suspects fled the scene towards I-10.
Authorities say officers pursued the suspects in a high speed chase until the suspects vehicle crashed near the intersection of FM 1518 and I-10. After a brief foot pursuit three suspects were caught and arrested. A fourth suspect was arrested a couple hours later.
Police say they recovered a gun inside the suspects vehicle. The vehicle was also determined to be stolen out of San Antonio.
This is an ongoing investigation.
