Neighbors say group of teens are terrorizing area neighborhoods with thefts and vandalism

“I can tell you that there are several, more than several people in the neighborhood, that are ready to protect themselves and their families."

SAN ANTONIO — Early Friday morning neighbors on Bedford Stage in the Gardens of Castle Hills Subdivision woke up to swarming police presence in the Neighborhood.

A homeowner confronted three people trying to break into his truck, when one of the thieves pulled out a gun and fired a shot in the air.

"We've seen several videos where they're carrying guns at the same time," says Debbie Hindman, President, Garden's of Castle Hills HOA.

Debbie Hindman, President of the Home Owners Association says while they have had several incidents, the community is not isolated and it's happening all over the city.

Over in the Colonies North Subdivision, It's a similar story.

"Crime has gone up significantly," says Tae Garcia, President Colonies North Club House.

Tea Garcia who oversees the club house in Colonies North, which acts as the HOA says she was the victim of vandalism.  Video shows teens destroying thousands of dollars in Halloween decorations.

Garcia says through the Nextdoor App, people in other neighborhoods including Shenandoah and Whispering Oaks, have been sharing pictures and videos.  Neighbors in those neighborhoods say they believe it's the same group of kids sealing and vandalizing.

"There's over 20 cases on these kids right now, and we have it narrowed it down to four individuals.  Those individuals are in between middle school and high school kids, that are just doing this for joyrides," says Garcia.

Garcia says she was sent images of last nights shooting suspects on Bedford Stage and believes two individuals are part of this same group.  Garcia says they are working with San Antonio Police.

We did reach out to SAPD to see if they are connected, but have not heard back.  Neighbors say they are being vigilant.

"Nothing is worth losing your life over, but I can tell you that there are several, more than several people in the neighborhood that are ready to protect themselves and their families," says Hindman.
