Davenport High teacher 'engaged in sexual contact' with student in house under construction, according to authorities

51-year-old Jennifer Massey faces improper relationship between educator and student charges.

GARDEN RIDGE, Texas — A teacher in Garden Ridge has been arrested after she was caught engaging in sexual contact with a juvenile, according to authorities.

On Thursday at about 6 p.m., Comal County deputies were called to a home under construction in the 22000 block of Citadel Point for a suspicious person.

Deputies made contact with 51-year-old Jennifer Massey, an art teacher at Davenport High School according to the school website, with a male juvenile.

According to investigation, Massey and the juvenile "engaged in sexual contact."

Massey was arrested and faces improper relationship between educator and student charges. Massey's bond has not been set at this time.

Comal ISD has provided KENS 5 with the following statement:

"The district does not condone inappropriate relationships between teachers and students. Ensuring the safety and security of our students is our top priority. We will continue to cooperate fully with law enforcement during their investigation."

In addition, the principal of Davenport High School sent a message to parents on Friday:

"The purpose of this message is to make you aware of a situation involving one of our teachers, Jennifer Massey," the message said. "The district learned that last night Mrs. Massey was charged with having an improper relationship with a student. Mrs. Massey was placed on administrative leave this morning, and she will not be returning to Davenport High School."
