Two people crossing the street struck by hit-and-run suspect, police say

Police say a 38-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man were crossing the street when they were hit by an unknown vehicle.

SAN ANTONIO — Police are looking for a hit-and-run suspect after they allegedly hit two people crossing the street Friday night.

At about 11:20 p.m. a 38-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man were crossing the intersection of North St. Mary's Street at 200 Claudia Street.

An unknown vehicle then hit both people, injuring both of them. The vehicle continued southbound on St. Mary's without stopping. When they are found, the suspect is facing charges of stopping and rendering aid.

Around 12:15 a.m., while police were working a scene in the same area, an officer in a police vehicle was hit by another vehicle.

The officer in the vehicle and the suspect were not injured in the accident.

The suspect driver, a 37-year-old woman, was found to be under the influence. She was arrested for third DWI.
