Murder suspect arrested in SA after deadly shooting in Kerrville, police say

Police found a woman, identified as Deanna Leann Arispe, 36, with gunshot wounds.

SAN ANTONIO — A suspect who was on the run after killing a woman in Kerrville was arrested Saturday night in San Antonio, police say.

Gabriel Rene Aleman, 29, is accused of shooting and killing a 36-year-old woman.

Officers responded to a shooting at an apartment on the 2800 block of Hunt Street around 1:20 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a woman, identified as Deanna Leann Arispe, 36, with gunshot wounds. She was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

Investigators said Aleman fired shots into the apartment through the front door, striking Arispe. Three children and two adults were inside the apartment at the time of the shooting.

No one else was injured in the shooting.

Police were able to identify Aleman as the suspect using video footage from a nearby doorbell camera.

Detectives found his car at a home on the 100 block of South Michon Drive. A search warrant was executed but Aleman was not found inside the home.

Kerrville detectives, working alongside the Texas Rangers, received information that Aleman was hiding at a home in San Antonio. SAPD was notified and placed the home under surveillance. He was found and arrested by SAPD in the 400 block of San Gabriel, in San Antonio, just before 11:00 p.m. Saturday. Aleman is currently in the Bexar County Jail on a $1M bond and charged with Murder.

Casandra Carin Moreno, 31, was also arrested for giving Aleman a ride to San Antonio after the shooting. She was arrested in the 300 block of Carolyn Street West in Ingram. She is currently being held in the Kerr County Jail.
