A frightening home invasion has led to the arrest of a man in Kirby.
Police say that Anthony Ray Mari and two juveniles held a family inside a Kirby home as hostages for nearly six hours.
Neighbors say they're used to seeing a Land Rover in one particular driveway, but it's gone now thanks to the thieves that took it and pretty much everything else inside the home.
"I was concerned that morning because weapons were drawn and that kind of stuff," said Mahlon Rhodes, who added that he was worried when he saw the end of a hostage situation involving his next door neighbors.
It happened in March, and on Wednesday, police say that they’ve arrested the final suspect.
“I came out of the house and I saw two men coming down the driveway: one with his arms around the other one,” Rhodes recalled.
Rhodes added that he saw his neighbor pinning down a juvenile. Police say that the juvenile and two other people had broken into the home and tied up the family of three at gunpoint. Police also say that the thieves forced one of the victims to hand over their Land Rover's title.
“It was strange for the neighborhood, that’s for sure,” Rhodes said.
It didn't stop there, though. Police say that Mari, who was arrested Tuesday, left with the car, came back with a U-haul and took everything out of the house. Police say that Mari and a juvenile took off again. After six hours, one of the victims was able to break free and call police.
Police say that none of the stolen items have been recovered, including the car, but everybody is in custody.
