Man took teen girl to his apartment complex before sexually assaulting her, SAPD says

San Antonio police say the man offered the victim a ride home. They ended up at his apartment complex.

SAN ANTONIO — A 28-year-old man was arrested after being accused of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl at his apartment complex.

On May 2, around 9:30 p.m., SAPD said Wrenn Thomas Penick was working a kiosk at a shopping mall in the 6300 block of Northwest Loop 410 when he and another man met the teen victim and her 13-year-old friend.

Penick and the other man reportedly offered the victim a ride, which they accepted. During the ride, police said they stopped at a movie theater before ultimately ending up at an apartment complex a few miles away.

It was at the apartment complex, SAPD said, that Penick sexually assaulted the victim.

SAPD is looking into a report of "indecency with a child" related to the 13-year-old. Reports state the other man allegedly took the 13-year-old into another room while Penick remained on the couch with the 14-year-old.

After the incident, the 14-year-old called her mother, who was able to locate her at the complex which is where the police report was ultimately made.

Penick was taken into custody on Friday afternoon. As of Saturday night Penick remains in jail on a $50,000 bond.

SAPD believes there could be more victims and is asking them to come forward by calling the Special Victims Unit at (210) 207-2313.
