SAN ANTONIO — A man was arrested after allegedly shooting another man at a VIA bus stop on the southwest side back in December, police said.
Andres Jesus Gutierrez, 21, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
On December 4, 2023 San Antonio police responded to a shooting in progress at a VIA bus stop on the 1700 block of South Zarzamora Street around 4:30 p.m.
Police said Gutierrez and another man were riding on the VIA bus when they got into an argument. When the man exited the bus he was followed by Gutierrez.
Gutierrez pulled out a gun and shot the man multiple times at the bus stop on Zarzamora Street. Gutierrez then fled on foot, police said.
Crime Stoppers had offered a reward for information leading to an arrest.
Investigators received multiple tips and looked through surveillance footage obtained from inside the bus and determined Gutierrez was the suspect.
He was booked in the Bexar County Jail.
