SAN ANTONIO — A man was arrested after allegedly threatening to shoot a San Antonio police officer following an attack that left two dogs dead in September, authorities say.

Roderick Coriey Harris, 46, was charged with terroristic threat of peace officer.

According to an arrest affidavit, an off-duty SAPD officer reported that Harris threatened him on Oct. 5 which stemmed from a previous incident in September, when Harris' dogs broke through the officer's fence and attacked the officer's assigned police K9. The officer attempted to separate the dogs but was unsuccessful, so he fired multiple rounds to stop the attack. The incident resulted in the death of Harris' dog and the K9.

The officer had been advised not to have any contact with Harris due to the nature of the dog attack.

On Oct. 5 the man (off-duty officer) was in his backyard trying to reinforce his fence which had been damaged during the September incident. Harris reportedly asked the man if he needed help with the fence to which the man refused since he was advised not to have contact. Harris keep talking with the man and making negative statements to the man about the dog incident. The man decided to head inside his home to try and deescalate the situation, according to the affidavit.

The affidavit states that as the man was walking towards his door he heard Harris continue to speak. Afterwards the man reviewed his camera footage where Harris can be heard saying "Didn't think I knew your name huh? Oh I know our name. I'll f***ing shoot you, you f***ing pig."

The man told authorities he feared for his life and the life of his family members. An arrest warrant was shortly issued for Harris.

Harris was taken into custody last Friday.
