Man broke into home, threatened woman with gun, then sexually assaulted her, police say

Police in San Marcos are investigating two similar incidents in the past few days.

SAN MARCOS, Texas — The San Marcos Police Department was asking residents to avoid the area near The Retreat apartment complex Thursday evening as they investigate a home invasion/sexual assault. They said it was similar to an incident that took place Wednesday, April 24.

According to police, a woman returned to her home in the Cottages of San Marcos apartment complex and found a man hiding in her bedroom. She said the man threatened her with a handgun and sexually assaulted her.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20’s with an athletic build, approximately six feet tall and was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black pants, black gloves, black socks, black slide sandals, and a mask covering the lower half of his face.

Another incident occurred at the Capstone Cottages on Craddock Avenue on April 30. Police said a man entered an apartment and threatened a resident with a handgun. The suspect was about 6-foot-3, wearing a long sleeve black shirt, black pants, black gloves and a black mask covering his face and hair, police said.
