Man shot after giving suspect 'a couple dollars' at local store

The victim was treated for his injuries at the scene. Police say the suspect fled on foot.

SAN ANTONIO — Police say a man was shot at a northwest-side apartment complex after giving the suspect money.

At about 12:12 a.m. Saturday morning, police were called to the Fredericksburg Place Apartments located at 3435 Fredericksburg Rd. for a shooting in progress.

Upon arrival, police found a man, 47, standing outside one of the apartment buildings claiming he had been shot. Police say he had been shot in the neck, and life saving measures took place.

The victim said that a man had "demanded his property" while they were at a local store. After the victim says he gave him a couple dollars, he was shot in the neck. The suspect fled on foot after the shooting.

Police canvassed the area the shooting allegedly took place but were unable to locate a crime scene.

No other injuries have been reported.

No information has been given on the appearance or identity of the suspect.
