SAN ANTONIO — A man was hit and killed while he was chasing after his dogs on the highway east of downtown late Sunday night, according to police.
San Antonio Police responded to I-10 East near Dietrich Road just after 10 p.m. for reports of a vehicle hitting someone.
When officers arrived at the location they found a man in his 30s who had been hit and killed by a propane truck. Witnesses say that the man was having problems with his RV, so he pulled over and somehow his dogs both got out. He was chasing after them when he was hit by the commercial vehicle and killed.
The driver of the propane truck did stop to render aid. One of the dogs the man was chasing was seriously injured and the other made it safely to the side of the road.
This is a developing story.
