'Justice prevails' | Man sentenced to 53 years in prison for continuous sexual abuse of a child

The charges stem from sexual abuse that reportedly took place from late 2021 to June 2022 after outcry by the victim to a family member triggered immediate action.

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio man was sentenced to 53 years in prison without the possibility of parole for continuous sexual abuse of a child.

A Bexar County jury found 23-year-old Simon Bullock guilty of continuous sexual abuse of a child.

The charges stem from sexual abuse that reportedly took place from late 2021 to June 2022 after outcry by the victim to a family member triggered immediate action. Local authorities quickly initiated an investigation which corroborated the victim's account of the abuse through DNA evidence.

The victim testified to the abuse they suffered in a courtroom that Bullock was in and the jury sentenced him to 53 years in the Texas Department of Criminal justice without the possibility of parole.

"Simon Bullock is now facing the consequences for his crime against a child. Today's verdict emphasizes Bexar County's commitment to combat crimes targeting children,” stated Bexar County Criminal District Attorney Joe Gonzales. “We commend the trial team for their unwavering dedication and praise the victim for displaying remarkable courage.”

The trial team included Assistant District Attorneys Kristen Mulliner, Rosie Garcia, Investigator Michelle Grabowski and Crime Victims’ Advocate Cristina Lopez.
