'It's getting bad down here' | Suspect urinates in front of west-side home, then shoots another man, SAPD says

Police said a driver pulled over in front of a home around 10 p.m. on Zupan Lane and decided to use the bathroom.

SAN ANTONIO — A man who confronted a driver who pulled over to urinate in front of a west-side home ends up shot Tuesday night, according to San Antonio police.

Police said a driver pulled over in front of a home around 10 p.m. in the 5400 block of Zupan Lane and decided to use the bathroom. This is the neighborhood near Wolff Stadium where the San Antonio Missions baseball team play.

Authorities said a 34-year-old man came out of the home and confronted the driver urinating n front of his house.

Police said an argument ensued followed by the suspect shooting the homeowner in the arm before taking off.

The man was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive.

A neighbor who only wished to use his first name is used to hearing gunshots in the neighborhood. Eddie and his wife heard what happened last night.

“I heard the gunshots but like always whenever we hear gunshots we just stay inside," Eddie said. "I hope he's okay, I hope he makes it."

Jo Neira is baffled by what happened in her neighborhood, stressing she's a bit on edge now but not surprised by the latest act of violence in the area. She believes SAPD should have more officers patrolling the neighborhood.

“It’s getting bad down here," Neira said. “That is sad, that is sad because you can’t even do nothing, you can’t go outside to your own yard.”

No arrests have been made. A description of the suspect was not provided.
