SAPD looking for person responsible for shooting man on southeast side

Police responded to a shooting in progress around 3:45 a.m. on Rigsby Avenue and Amanda Street off of I-10.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are actively searching for the suspects involved in a southeast-side shooting that sent one man to the hospital early Tuesday morning.

Police responded to a shooting in progress around 3:45 a.m. on Rigsby Avenue and Amanda Street off of I-10.

Police said three people were in a vehicle when another vehicle pulled up and opened fire. One of the passengers in the first vehicle, a man in his 20s was shot in the back.

The vehicle that was shot at continued to drive and called for help. Police said the driver of that vehicle made everyone get out and took off before officers arrived. Officials do not believe that driver was involved in the shooting.

The man was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

Police said the suspects fled the area in a dark colored vehicle.
