Son gets stabbed by mother's ex at southwest-side home during argument, SAPD says

Police said a woman, her son and her ex all live in the residence.

SAN ANTONIO — A man allegedly stabbed his ex's son after an argument escalates at a southwest-side home Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

San Antonio police responded to a stabbing on the 1400 block of W. Winnipeg Avenue around 3:20 p.m.

Police said a woman, her son and her ex all live in the residence.

A police sergeant on scene said the son, identified as a man in his 50s, got into an argument with the ex, identified as a man in his 60s. Sometime during the argument the ex stabbed the son in the stomach.

Police did not say what started the argument or what kind of weapon was used.

After getting stabbed the younger man walked out of the house and asked a passing neighbor for help. He was later taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police said.

The suspect was detained at the scene by police.

Detectives continue to investigate the incident.
