NEW BRAUNFELS, TEXAS - The New Braunfels Police Department is warning residents of a scam artist that is trying to gain access to homes in the area.

According to NBPD, there were two reports of a person that came up to a house claiming that his lost phone was inside. The scam artist would show the resident another phone that had the "Find my iPhone" app which would show that the phone is pinging inside the residence.

This man is also able to show specifics of the phone's movement throughout the day.

NBPD is advising residents to be cautious when answering the door, and to be extra vigilent of anyone attempting to get inside your home.
