Man charged with Capital Murder in neighborhood shootout that killed two, injured three more

Police say an argument broke out at a house party before it escalated to the gunfire.

SAN ANTONIO — Two people were killed and three others, including a child, were hurt in a Saturday-night shootout between neighboring San Antonio families, police say.

Raul Trevino, 20, was arrested and is being charged with Capital Murder in connection with the shooting.

Officers with the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) responded to the 300 block of Roslyn Avenue around 9:40 p.m. for reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, authorities said, they found five people had been shot.

Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, later identified as the girl who was shot's parents. Three others were taken to a hospital in unknown condition, including the 13-year-old girl.

Officers say that there was a party at the home and, at some point, an argument began and guns were drawn.

A neighbor who was attending the party left the home and went back to her house to get her family, and the argument escalated further. Police say guns were drawn by members of both families before shots were fired; several people were caught in the crossfire.

SAPD says the investigation is ongoing.
