Ongoing dispute between neighbors turns into shooting on north side, police say

Investigators are talking with witnesses and are collecting surveillance footage.

SAN ANTONIO — An argument between neighbors turns into a shootout in a north-side neighborhood Wednesday morning, authorities say. 

San Antonio Police responded to a shooting on the 1000 block of Ridgewood Court. 

Police say a man in his 20s and a man in his 40s were arguing. The younger man was yelling from the front of the house and the older man was yelling from his truck. Eventually both men pulled out their guns and started firing at each other. 

The man in his 40s was struck multiple times while sitting in his truck. He was able to drive to his home and call for help, authorities say. 

The man in his 20s initially fled the scene but later returned. Police say they recovered his weapon and he was taken into custody. 

The older man who was shot was taken to a local hospital in serious condition. 

Police say the men have an ongoing dispute and witnesses say they are constantly fighting. 

Authorities are working to figure out what exactly happened. 

Investigators are talking with witnesses and are collecting surveillance footage. 

The SAFE Unit says the have responded to several calls on this block.
