SAN ANTONIO — A man was stabbed in the face while onboard a VIA bus on the northeast side Thursday morning, according to officials.
San Antonio emergency crews responded to a call for a stabbing at the Randolph Park and Ride around 9 a.m.
Officials say a man boarded the bus and instigated a confrontation with another man on the bus. The altercation quickly turned physical and the man who had instigated the fight was cut on the face.
A VIA Security officer then entered the bus and broke up the fight, authorities say.
The man who was cut was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The other man was taken into custody by VIA Transit Police Department officers.
Officials say only one other person was on the bus at the time of the incident. No other injuries were reported.
No other information was provided.
This is a developing story.
