Bexar County authorities call shooting in Converse murder-suicide

The names of the deceased have not been released.

SAN ANTONIO — We're learning more about a tragic incident that left two people dead in the Converse area Saturday afternoon.

Bexar County deputies who responded to a call for a loud disturbance found the pair deceased from what they are calling multiple gunshot wounds.

Monday, some neighbors and officials said they don't know much about the man and woman who lived in the home on Quarter Moon because they lived quietly, until multiple gunshots were fired.

Dispatchers initially told deputies they believed one person was already deceased when the first call for help was made.

"There are gunshot wounds to both decedents," Bexar County Sheriff Captain Augustin Pruneda said.

Investigators on scene said they were treating the case as a homicide but now the Sheriff's office is calling the incident a murder-suicide.

The ruling won’t be official until the medical examiner identifies the deceased and their cause and manner of death, but Monday afternoon they confirmed that based on tentative IDs, the deceased are a 62-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman.

“They are in a relationship with each other. We can't confirm the type of relationship at this point," Pruneda said.
