'Pistol-whipped with his own gun' | Road rage incident occurs after man was driving recklessly in school zone

Police are still investigating who was the aggressor. The alleged reckless driver might need stitches after being hit in the head with his own gun.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are questioning two men after an apparent road rage incident in a northeast-side school zone Friday morning.

The incident happened around the intersection of Lake Champlain and Independence Avenue at about 7:35 a.m. Police say one of the men pulled over his Audi after he saw the other man driving recklessly through a school zone. The Audi driver told him to slow down and watch out for the kids. The alleged reckless driver got upset, pulled over and started to confront the Audi driver before leaving the scene.

Later on, police say the reckless driver came back and confronted the Audi driver with a gun. The Audi driver then pulled out his phone to record him. The Audi driver then disarmed the reckless driver, hitting him on the head with his own gun, according to officials. He also shot at or towards the reckless driver.

It's unknown if anyone was hit by a bullet, but SAPD says the reckless driver might need "stitches for a head wound from being pistol whipped."

CSI is currently looking over the cell phone footage for evidence. Both men are considered suspects as it's still being determined who was the aggressor.

SAPD says to not drive recklessly in school zones especially with school starting up earlier this week.
