San Antonio man sentenced to 17 years after sending child pornography to undercover officer in Australia

Authorities seized a cell phone that contained more than 10,000 photos and almost 800 videos of "child sexual abuse material" from the suspect's home in San Antonio.

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio man has been sentenced to 17 years in federal prison after sending child pornography to an Australian police officer.

Court documents show that on Feb. 6 and Feb. 7, 2022, 42-year-old Thomas Jeffery McKissick sent 18 photos and four videos to an undercover officer in Queensland, Australia.

Just over a month later, Homeland Security Investigations executed a federal search warrant of McKissick's home in San Antonio and found a cell phone that contained more than 10,000 photos and almost 800 videos of "child sexual abuse material."

McKissick was arrested following the search and has remained in federal custody since March 11, 2022.

McKissick was sentenced to 210 months in federal prison, ordered to serve lifetime supervised release and pay $15,000 in restitution.

“This case demonstrates that our partnerships to combat criminal activity and prosecute child predators reach far beyond our state lines and our nation’s borders,” said U.S. Attorney Jaime Esparza for the Western District of Texas. “Thanks to this bilateral investigation and the collaboration between HSI San Antonio and the Queensland Police Service in Australia, this predator can no longer inflict harm on children.”
