SAN ANTONIO — A man has been arrested and is being charged with murder in connection to a stabbing that happened on Saturday, Dec. 14, near a Jim's Restaurant on the northeast side of town.
Police say that a 52-year-old man walked into the restaurant located on Loop 410 at Perrin Beitel Road bleeding profusely from a stab wound, but did not say where he had been attacked. He was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
SAPD was able to identify the suspect, Carl Mott, 61, through security footage they obtained, according to an arrest report. It states the victim and his wife were walking to the bus stop nearby when they saw the suspect, who they say had assaulted the victim in the past. Words were exchanged and Mott stabbed the victim, the affidavit says.
He ran off after the attack and the bleeding man entered the restaurant for help.
Police say the wife of the victim was also able to identify him as the man who allegedly stabbed her husband.
The victim's name has not been released.
In addition to the murder charges, Mott also had an active warrant for aggravated assault.
