SAN ANTONIO — A man was shot after an altercation broke out on the northwest side late Thursday night, according to San Antonio Police.
Authorities responded to a shooting in progress at W Poplar Street and Northwest 24th Street around 10:20 p.m.
Officers could not find a victim or crime scene but were eventually notified by hospital officials that a 19-year-old man had arrived with apparent gunshot wounds, according to SAPD.
Police say the man got into an altercation with two other men and at some point during the argument one of the men pulled out a gun and shot the victim.
The victim was able to escape and get into his vehicle where he proceeded to drive himself to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say this is an ongoing investigation.
