'That was a shocker': Shooting on the east side leaves two cars and a home with bullet holes

San Antonio Police say they are still looking for the suspect.

SAN ANTONIO — Neighbors are shaken up after a shooting in an east-side area Thanksgiving Eve. Many people in the neighborhood didn't even know it happened.

The neighborhood by Fargo and Drew Streets is normally quiet, according to those that live here. But, they say it was anything but quiet Wednesday night when bullets went flying.

"It's been real nice. We've been kind of low key neighborhood," said Marsha Ridyllph who has lived in this neighborhood for 27 years. When she was told about the shooting, she was surprised.

"That was a shocker. I guess the houses are kind of quiet, so you don't hear it. No, I didn't hear it. Not only that, I hadn't heard anybody talk about it," she said.

Just after 6 p.m, San Antonio Police responded to the call about multiple gunshots heard in the area. When they arrived, officers found several vehicles and houses struck by gunfire. A man who lives at one house says a bullet hit his back right tire, then ricocheted into another car into his driveway. He pointed out a bullet fragment on the ground. A neighbor across the street says the back of their house was hit as well as their black SUV in the driveway.

Ridyllph says they used to have a neighborhood watch, but she says a shooting like this could make residents start it back up again.

"We kind of slowed it down. But we're thinking about we're talking about trying to get it back up because things are starting to happen and we are the first people that know notice it," she added.

Police say the suspect is unknown at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
