SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio man has been sentenced to federal prison for a string of robberies across South Texas.
40-year-old Atseko Factor will have to serve 28 years in prison.
Along with his partner, Andre Dupree Jack, Factor faced multiple charges for robbery and using a weapon in an act of violence.
The three robberies happened between October and December 2020 at various pharmacies.
The first was in Luling, the second in Pleasanton and the last in Seguin, according to authorities.
"It was frightening because I've never had to deal with this kind of stuff in my life," said Merlin Tchawa Yigma, who owned the Seguin Health Mart Pharmacy. He spoke to us back in December 2020, shortly after the robbery.
"He pulled a gun, and then the other guy also pulled out a gun," said Yigma. "So I had two guns pointed at me at the same time."
And it didn’t end there.
"They used zip ties to tie my hands."
Afterwards, Factor and Jack took off.
Police say each crime was similar and ended with the two men stealing more than $43,000 worth of prescription medications, cash and other store items.
Factor pleaded guilty to his charges in September and must pay $47,000 in restitution.
As for Jack, he also pleaded guilty to his charges.
He’s scheduled to be sentenced on January 16th.
