SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police arrested two men after pursuing a stolen vehicle that later crashed into a pole on the northwest side Monday afternoon.

A police lieutenant on scene said officers were originally called to a robbery at 1031 Menchaca Street. The victim told responding officers his vehicle was stolen at gunpoint. Police said one round was fired during the robbery but no one was hit.

While talking to the victim, a patrol officer spotted the vehicle and began pursuing it.

Authorities said the driver of the stolen vehicle tried to evade police but somehow lost control of the car and crashed into a pole on the 2400 block of Texas Avenue.

Police arrested two men and recovered a weapon but could not confirm if it was the same gun used to rob the victim.

Police said two parked vehicles were struck during the chase.

According to SAPD, the men could face aggravated robbery charges.
