Northside ISD student arrested after district says a handgun was found in his possession

Administrators at Stevens High School say that no threat was made to the school and the student will be charged for his actions.

SAN ANTONIO — A Northside ISD student has been arrested after a gun was found in his possession, according to NISD.

Administrators say the student was from another NISD school and was on the Stevens High School campus. When the school realized he wasn't a Stevens High student, they detained him.

When they started to search the student, he admitted that he had a weapon. NISD police then took this weapon, a handgun, without incident.

The student has since been arrested and will be charged for his actions.

The school says there wasn't any threat made to the school.

The principal sent out a notification to Stevens HS parents Tuesday afternoon:

"Falcon Families,

I am reaching out to notify you of a situation that occurred on campus today. Campus administration identified a Northside student from another campus at Stevens. Campus officers were able to quickly detain the individual. In a subsequent search, it was discovered that the individual was in possession of a handgun which was confiscated without incident. While our investigation is still ongoing, we have no reports the weapon was ever brandished nor were any threats made toward our school or individuals. Northside ISD Police arrested the individual and criminal charges will be filed."
