Suspect allegedly threatens to kill acquaintance before pistol whipping him in the head, according to police

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries not related to the gunfire. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

SAN ANTONIO — A man's life was threatened by one of his acquaintances early Saturday morning, according to police.

At 4:26 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 5100 block of Roosevelt Avenue for a disturbance. A 37-year-old man was located with an apparent blunt force injury at the scene.

Police say the suspect and victim, known acquaintances, were having a physical altercation when the suspect allegedly threatened to kill the victim. The suspect then pulled out a weapon and started to shoot gunshots in the air. The victim then attempted to flee, only for the suspect to catch up to him. Police say the suspect then pistol-whipped the victim in the head, causing the gun to fire again.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived and was unable to located. He's described as a Hispanic man in his late 30s.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries not related to the gunfire.
