SAN ANTONIO — Two teens are behind bars after leading Bexar County deputies on a miles-long chase following an attempted vehicle break-in and shooting early Monday morning, authorities say.
Deputies say the suspects attempted to break into a vehicle on Marbach Garden when a homeowner shouted at them from one of his security camera's speakers. The suspects began getting back into their vehicles while one of them shouted profanities towards the residence.
The homeowner then came outside as the suspects were driving away and one of the suspects shot at the house multiple times, narrowly missing the homeowner. The suspects fled the area in multiple vehicles, according to deputies.
Authorities say deputies located one of the suspected vehicles, a previously stolen white SUV, and initiated a traffic stop but the suspects took off. Deputies continued to pursue the vehicle and the suspects eventually abandoned the stolen vehicle on Marquis Lane and fled on foot, before being apprehended.
Deputies say the suspects were a 13-year-old driver and 17-year-old passenger.
Video footage from nearby residences shows three vehicles were involved including a blue sedan, a white sedan and the white SUV. The gunfire came from the blue sedan, according to authorities.
This is an ongoing investigation.
