SAN ANTONIO — A shooting at a southeast-side restaurant has left a 19-year-old in critical condition early Saturday morning, according to police.
At about 3:41 a.m., the suspect, also 19, was at a restaurant in the 3200 block of SE Military Drive. While the suspect was in the restaurant, the eventual victim walked in.
The two 19-year-olds then began having a verbal argument. Police say the suspect then pulled out a gun from his backpack and pointed it at the victim. The victim then grabbed the suspect, causing a struggle.
Police say the suspect then shot the victim in the torso area. He also ends up shooting his own hand in the process.
Authorities arrived and located both teenagers at the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition while the suspect was arrested after being treated for his hand injury. He is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
