Comal County deputy fired after DUI arrest

Daniel Luna was arrested by his fellow deputies for driving under the influence early on Christmas Eve, according to a report.

COMAL COUNTY, Texas — A Comal County deputy has been fired after a crash and DUI arrest in the early-morning hours of Christmas Eve.

Daniel Luna, 33, was arrested by fellow deputies for driving under the influence after an incident shortly after 4 a.m. on Dec. 24, according to a report taken by the Comal County Sheriff's Office.

Details were few, but records show that seven deputies responded to a crash on Northbound Interstate 35 at Exit 194. Luna was reportedly behind the wheel of a 2018 Ram pickup truck, though it wasn't immediately clear if he was alone in the vehicle or if anyone was injured.

This is a developing story.
