SAN ANTONIO — A man was struck by a car on the run from Bexar County constables. The department said this hit-and-run crash started off as a traffic stop on the corner of West Poplar St. & North Zarzamora St.
Bexar County Constables Office Precinct 2 said they were out on patrol when they tried to conduct a traffic stop on a car they say was stolen. The department says the four people inside were juveniles who took off in the car about a block away and that’s when the car hit a man.
Witness Sandra Murray saw the entire situation unfold. She said the pedestrian hit was unconscious. When he came to, he was confused following the entire ordeal.
“He went flying and then the car sped through the street over there and then afterwards, they parked right over there as you can see, and they ran,” Murray said.
Two males and two females occupied the vehicle. The two males attempted to run off but the constables office confirmed that both have been caught.
One of the deputies on the scene administered medical triage until EMS arrived on the scene and transported the pedestrian to University Hospital where he is said to be stable.
