Two arrested for ATM robbery after police find them hiding in apartment complex utility closet

A person servicing an ATM in Kerrville reported to police that they were robbed at gunpoint by two individuals.

KERRVILLE, Texas — Two individuals are in custody in regards to an ATM robbery that took place on Tuesday afternoon.

On Tuesday around 12:51 p.m., Kerrville police said they received a 911 call reporting that a person servicing an ATM in the 200 block of Sidney Baker South was robbed at gunpoint by two individuals. The two suspects left the scene in a silver Mercedes sedan and the 911 caller was able to give police a description of the suspects along with a partial description of the license plate.

Officers responded to the area, and around 12:58 p.m. reportedly found the described vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex located on the 700 block of Hill Country Drive. A witness reported to police that they saw two individuals that matched the suspects' descriptions running in the area.

Authorities began searching the complex and were able to locate one of the suspects hiding in a utility room. Officers and detectives reportedly were able to detain the suspect once he exited the the utility room and the second suspect was arrested soon after, once he also walked out of the same utility room.

A search of the utility room allegedly led to the discovery of the handgun used in the robbery, along with the money stolen from the ATM.

According to police, the two suspects were identified as Gabriel Lance Butler II, 20, and Camryon Jevon Cagan, 20. Both were charged with aggravated robbery and theft, according to Kerr County Judicial Records.
