SAN ANTONIO — Two men were shot near a major highway on the northeast side last Tuesday night, San Antonio police said.
Officers responded to a call along I-35 N Frontage Road near Rittiman Road by a La Quinta Inn around 8:30 p.m.
Police found two men in their 40s with multiple gunshot wounds. One man was shot in the stomach and the other was hit in the arm.
Based on investigation, the suspect and victim were arguing when the suspect pulled out a firearm and began shooting towards the two victims.
The suspect, later identified as 33-year-old Ronald Arthur St. Amie Jr., was detained at the scene for an active unrelated warrant.
Both men were taken to a local hospital. One of the victims, identified as 32-year-old Miguel Angel Garza later died from his injuries.
St. Amie has since been charged with capital murder by terrorist threat and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, according to jail records.
